We proudly announce that Sarah Bannon is our 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year at the Sierra Vista K-8 School.
Sarah has been a beacon of positivity within our school community as a faculty member since our 2016 reopening. Her positivity and perpetual smile radiate warmth and a climate of peace throughout the school.
As our dedicated 8th-grade Science and STEM teacher, she fosters meaningful relationships with students and their families. Sarah brings life to her subjects, engaging all students in thoughtful discussion.
“Sarah brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her teaching. She works tirelessly in her effort to support each of her students in both their academic and social-emotional growth,” according to her colleagues.
Outside the classroom, Sarah co-leads our student council, organizing and running meetings, planning fundraisers and dances, and encouraging our students to make their voices heard. In fact, our students had this to say; “Mrs. Bannon makes me smile.” “She is always so happy and refuses to let me give up.”
We are so fortunate to call Sarah Bannon a Grizzly.
