MEET MR. DINWIDDIE

Dear Sierra Vista families,

My name is John Dinwiddie and I am very excited to be starting a new year at Sierra Vista K-8. For those families that are returning welcome back and for our new Grizzlies, welcome. This is my 18^th year in education and have taught multiple levels. My primary focus has been in the middle school classroom.

I was born and raised in Napa Valley. I grew up going to a small school and realized I wanted to get into teaching. What drives me as an educator is being able to find that connection with students that allows doors to open up for them later in life. All students have the potential to find something they are great at and as their teacher I love that search.

I attended Sacramento State University where I earned my degree in Liberal Studies before getting my teaching credential. While teaching in Vacaville I have learned that with trust and a willingness to work hard we can accomplish great things.

In my free time I enjoy doing anything outdoors, especially when it has a sports theme. I am a huge Raiders, A’s, and Warriors fan and when I can, love going to games. You will also run see me around town with my 2 amazing kids.
